Press conference announcing the reintroduction of the Pancreatic Cancer Research & Education Act in Congress

Wednesday, February 16, 2011
11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. EDT*

*Please note: Since scheduling is subject to change, please revisit this page before you leave for the press conference to re-confirm event details.

Location: Room S-120 in the Capitol building

At the press conference, a landmark report entitled “Pancreatic Cancer: A trickle of federal funding for a river of need” will be released. The report encourages the National Cancer Institute to develop a new national strategy for knowing, fighting and ending pancreatic cancer.

We encourage all local constituents to attend the press conference and dress in purple to show support for the cause. If you plan to attend, you must reserve your place at RSVP@pancan.org no later than noon on Thursday, February 10. If you do not register by the deadline, you will not be permitted to attend the press conference due to federal security regulations. Once you register, we will send you information on how to get to the event.

Keep these tips in mind:

  1. Take public transit to Capitol Hill due to parking restrictions.
  2. Bring your government-issued identification with you. (It is required to enter the Capitol building.)
  3. Do not bring any liquids with you. (None may be taken into the building.)

Please call Kristen Killacky at 877-272-6226 with any questions. We hope to see you on February 16!
