Influencers of Hope are notable members of the pancreatic cancer community uniting with everyday heroes in the fight against pancreatic cancer. Committed to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network's goal to double survival by 2020, Influencers of Hope raise their voice and take much needed action to improve outcomes for patients worldwide.
Spokesperson Carolina Panthers Head Coach Ron Rivera became involved with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network after his brother Mickey was diagnosed with the disease. Mickey lost his battle in 2015, only two years after diagnosis. He was 56. Coach Rivera has since then stepped-up to enhance awareness for the disease – speaking on behalf of the organization and utilizing his national platform to rally people to get involved. Coach Ron takes much pride in the relationship he has cultivated with volunteers of our Charlotte Affiliate and the pancreatic cancer community.
American TV actress, comedian and singer most notably known for her portrayal of Edna Garrett in the sitcoms, "Diff'rent Strokes" and its spin-off, "The Facts of Life." Rae was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2009.
