The mission of the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition is to drive transformational change for all those affected by pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic cancer leaders from 22 countries are coming together for the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition annual meeting in Florida.

For the third year in a row, pancreatic cancer patient advocacy groups from around the globe are coming together for the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition (WPCC) annual meeting. At this year’s conference, being held this week in Coral Gables, Fla., 40 member organizations from 22 countries are gathering to exchange ideas on how they can heighten awareness and increase research funding for the disease.

Among those attending is the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN).

“The World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition (WPCC) is an incredible opportunity to work together with other organizations across the globe and unite in our fight to end pancreatic cancer,” said Julie Fleshman, JD, MBA, the chair of the WPCC Steering Committee, who is also the president and CEO of PanCAN. “Collectively, our voices are stronger, allowing us to make greater strides toward changing outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients.”

Beginning May 8, WPCC adds a purple hue to the “Sunshine State.” Attendees will use the three-day conference to drive transformational change for all those affected by pancreatic cancer via a science panel discussion, multiple workshops and a chance to talk about initiatives for this year’s World Pancreatic Cancer Day, which takes place on Nov. 15.

“The annual WPCC meeting brings together all of the thought leaders in pancreatic cancer patient advocacy,” Fleshman added. “Attendees share their global expertise and experience, help develop our annual World Pancreatic Cancer Day campaign and learn about emerging pancreatic cancer science from world-class experts. This shared experience elevates all of us and inspires us to return to our home cities and put what we learned into action.”
