Survivor Story: Erica Butler
01/30/2013
Pancreatic cancer has touched my life in many ways.  I was diagnosed in May 2010 and I was very young with two children.  I found out that I have been living with a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor that was misdiagnosed for seven years.  I suffered for many years and thought that there was no hope for me.  In October 2010, I underwent a surgery called a Whipple at a high volume pancreatic cancer hospital in Baltimore and my whole life changed from there.  Being diagnosed and going through this traumatic change in life has made me prioritize my life and concentrate on my family, health, and helping others.  I am so blessed and thankful that I am able to stand up and tell my story that anything is possible.  Fight with everything you have in you!  Today, I am able to help others by advocating about pancreatic cancer.
