2013 RESEARCH GRANTS
The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is pleased to announce its 2013 research grants recipients. A record high of over $5 million will be awarded this year to scientists throughout the country. This total represents a 46 percent increase from last year’s research grants investment, and will bring the grand total to $17.6 million distributed since the program’s inception in 2003.

2014 RESEARCH GRANTS
The announcement for our 2014 research grants program will go out in late Summer 2013.
The grants program is designed to help incubate innovative research projects, grow the number of researchers dedicated to studying pancreatic cancer, nurture collaborations across disciplines and institutions, and expedite scientific progress for patient benefit. In addition to receiving financial support for their research, grantees participate in a mentorship program that connects them with leading scientists in the field. Ongoing career support activities offer opportunities for education and professional development. As a result, our community of researchers stays committed and involved.
A new grant mechanism was added in 2013, called the Research Acceleration Network (RAN) Grant. This grant is designed to support a collaborative project with a clinical component that will help double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020.
The grants program is administered in partnership with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) to ensure a rigorous peer-review system. Applications are reviewed by panels of top experts in the field of pancreatic cancer, using NIH-based evaluation criteria and scoring system.
