Advocacy Day 2010 Accommodations

 
Accommodations for the Pancreatic Cancer Advocacy Day are available at the Fairmont Hotel located in the Foggy Bottom area of downtown Washington, D.C. We have arranged for a limited block of rooms to be available for a discount rate of $269 per night (for single or double occupancy), plus taxes and service charges. This rate is based on availability and will expire on May 21, 2010, so please book your room as soon as possible. If you call the hotel directly, mention the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network block to get the discount rate.

Transportation Information
While the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network will provide buses to transport advocates from the Fairmont to Capitol Hill for congressional meetings, participants are responsible for making their own airfare/transportation arrangements to and from Washington, D.C. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network cannot reimburse travel, hotel accommodations, or parking expenses.

Cabs from Washington Reagan Airport (DCA) cost approximately $20 one way (including tip) and the trip will take from 10 to 45 minutes, depending upon whether you are traveling during rush hour. A Metro stop is located at the airport as well. (Take the BLUE LINE Rail labeled LARGO TOWN CENTER METRO STATION and exit FOGGY BOTTOM METRO STATION.) The ride will cost $1.35 during non-rush hour times and $2 during rush hour and will take from 15 to 20 minutes plus a 10-minute walk to the hotel.


ARRIVING IN WASHINGTON, DC

From Reagan National Airport (DCA):
Taxi cabs and the metro are accessible from Reagan National Airport. A cab ride to the Fairmont Hotel can cost between $15-25. Reagan National Airport also has a metro station within it. The National Airport metro station is located on the Blue and Yellow lines. (The Blue line will take you directly to the Foggy Bottom-GWU metro station nearest the Fairmont.)

From Dulles International Airport (IAD):
Taxi cabs and buses are accessible from Dulles International Airport. A cab ride from Dulles into the city can cost up to $80. The Washington Flyer Coach Service shuttles between Dulles and the West Falls Church metro station, which is on the Orange line and will take you directly to the Foggy Bottom-GWU metro station nearest the Fairmont Hotel. From Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI):
Taxi cabs and buses are available from Baltimore-Washington International Airport. A cab ride from BWI can cost up to $80. The BWI Express Metro Bus shuttles between BWI and the Greenbelt metro station, which is on the Green line. You can transfer from the Green to the Orange and Blue lines at L'Enfant Plaza. Both the Orange and Blue lines stop at Foggy Bottom metro station, the closest Metro stop to the Fairmont Hotel. Fare for the BWI express bus is $3.10. By train, from Union Station
Taxi cabs, buses, and the metro are accessible from Union Station. A cab ride from Union Station to the Fairmont Hotel can cost between $10-20, depending on traffic. There is also a metro station located in Union Station, but note that you will need to change lines to reach the Foggy Bottom metro station.
