A Message from the President and CEO

Today, more than 500 of our supporters are convening on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., for the fifth annual Pancreatic Cancer Advocacy Day. This year, we will once again ask Congress to champion federal funding for pancreatic cancer research and support the Pancreatic Cancer Research & Education Act (S. 362/H.R. 733), game-changing legislation that would create a path for true progress for pancreatic cancer by requiring the development of a long-term and comprehensive strategic plan for improving survival rates for the disease.

Even if you are not in the nation's Capitol today, you can provide very meaningful support for everyone who will be advocating on the Hill. Join the National Call-In by clicking here and adding your own voice to this historic effort.

During last year's National Call-In, more than 2,000 calls were placed to U.S Senators and Representatives in nearly every state. The combined impact of the calls in addition to the Advocacy Day visits resulted in many members of Congress agreeing to help us Know It, Fight It and End It. Our goal this year is to have even more voices join us so that EVERY congressional office hears from our supporters today through the combination of phone calls and in-person visits.

You can also experience Advocacy Day virtually, no matter where you are. We will report live from Capitol Hill throughout the day, so I encourage you to tune in for Advocacy Day updates by following us on Twitter at @Advocate4PanCAN. We will post video clips, images and tweets in real-time from the event periodically, so you can stay in touch through your favorite social networking channel.

Thank you again for your support of this important initiative that is destined to touch tens of thousands of lives. Together, we really do have the power to Know It, Fight It and End It.

Warmest regards,

Julie Fleshman, JD, MBA
