Message from the President and CEO

Dear Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Friends:

Nearly 600 supporters joined us for the 13th annual An Evening with the Stars gala, which was held on October 30 at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. The festive event raised more than $800,000 (gross) this year, which will be used to fund critical programs and research for the pancreatic cancer community.

The evening's honorees included five of the organization's committed supporters. At the gala, siblings Linda Daly, Robert Daly, Jr. and Brian Daly were recognized with the inaugural Nancy M. Daly Shining Star Award, a new honor created as a tribute to their mother, a celebrated Los Angeles-area philanthropist who passed from pancreatic cancer in 2009.

In addition, long-term Pancreatic Cancer Action Network donor and supporter Cindy Landon was acknowledged with the Emily Couric Public Service Award for her many contributions to our organization as well as a host of other charities. Our organization's new official spokesperson, Lisa Niemi Swayze, was also presented with the Spirit of Hope Award during the evening.

In her new role as our spokesperson, Lisa has helped to launch and promote our 2010 awareness campaign: Be a Hero in the Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer. We hope you will visit knowitfightitendit.org today and learn how you can support the campaign, as
well.

As always, your support of our cause is deeply appreciated.

Sincerely,

Julie Fleshman, JD, MBA
