Attention Residents Living in the Counties of San Mateo, Santa Cruz or Santa Clara
The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network has been working with Congresswoman Anna G. Eshoo (D-CA; 14th Congressional District of California) to advance the National Plan to Advance Pancreatic Cancer Research in the U.S. Congress.
Congresswoman Eshoo was a primary author of the U.S. House of Representatives letter we carried during the Advocacy Day that supported our National Plan and an overall funding increase for the National Cancer Institute.
During a recent legislation markup by the US House Committee on Energy and Commerce’s Subcommittee on Health, Congresswoman Eshoo took the opportunity to highlight the need for Congress to evaluate how the National Cancer Institute (NCI) is prioritizing its research so that deadly and under-researched cancers, like pancreatic cancer, don’t continue to be overlooked. Currently, NCI spends less than 2% of their budget on pancreatic cancer research.
If you are a constituent of the 14th Congressional District of California (San Mateo County, Santa Cruz County & Santa Clara County) please call Congresswoman Eshoo’s office at (202) 225-8104 to thank her for continuing to be one of our congressional champions in the fight against pancreatic cancer.
