Floor Speech Members

Congressional Floor Speeches on Pancreatic Cancer

We are currently asking Congress to support a permanent fix to sequestration and to provide sustained adequate funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Cancer Institute (NCI). Specifically, we have asked each member of Congress to demonstrate their support by delivering a floor speech asking their colleagues in Congress to address these issues and citing the growing threat of pancreatic cancer as an example for why Congress must act on this request.

Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers across the country, Congress has heard our call and begun to respond. Some members have delivered the speeches we requested (calling for an end to sequestration and providing sustained adequate medical research funding) and some have made speeches raising awareness about pancreatic cancer, but have not specifically addressed the remaining part of our request.

Below are lists of all the senators and representatives (listed by state) who have delivered the floor speeches we requested and those who have made speeches that mention pancreatic cancer. It is important that we thank all of these members! You may read the official transcript of each member’s remarks by clicking on the links below their name and can send the appropriate thank you email by clicking on the buttons below. These lists will be updated at least once a week, so check back regularly!

Members who have not made floor speeches:
If any of your members of Congress are not on the two lists above, please click on the button below to send them a message asking them to deliver a floor speech on the importance of fixing sequestration and providing adequate sustained funding for the NIH and NCI. Remember, it took us over five years to get the Recalcitrant Cancer Research Act passed, so we need to keep the pressure on Congress!
