Advocacy Day participants on Capitol Hill, June 18, 2013
Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of our advocates around the country, the Seventh Annual Pancreatic Cancer Advocacy Day and National Call-In were an incredible success!
- We reached all 100 U.S. Senators and 372 of the 435 U.S. Representatives.
- Approximately 550 advocates from all 50 states attended Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C.
- Nearly 3,500 phone calls were placed to Congress during the National Call-In from volunteers across the country.
- We turned Facebook and Twitter purple with almost 500 tweets sent to members of Congress and over 1,000 Facebook profile pictures changed to Know It, Fight It, End It!

In the days immediately after Advocacy Day, several members of Congress delivered floor speeches urging their colleagues to fix sequestration and to provide sustained adequate funding for the NIH and NCI. Some members have even mentioned the meetings they had with Pancreatic Cancer Action Network volunteers. Please click on the button below to thank those Members who have made speeches and to urge those who haven’t to do so TODAY!
Remember, our Advocacy Day meetings will only be effective if we follow up! Please complete an action alert today and participate in the At Home Challenge this August.
